Who we Are

The Salvation Army's Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Division is located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. It is home to 26 Worship and Community Centers (Corps), 67 service extension units, a camp, as well as multiple homeless shelters, thrift stores and food pantries. Our Local Leadership

Major Trevor McClintock - Divisional Commander | Major Rochelle (Shelley) McClintock - Divisional Leader for Officer Development

Majors Trevor and Rochelle (Shelley) McClintock have been Salvation Army officers for twenty-two years, in five different appointments, including eight years in the Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Division as the corps officers in Marquette, Michigan and Manitowoc, Wisconsin. They have also served in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Omaha, Nebraska, and most recently in Quincy, Illinois as the Senior Kroc Officers, and Area Command Leaders.

They met and married in Aberdeen, South Dakota and have been happily married for 25 years. Their adult children are their pride and joy. Their son, Lieutenant Landon and his wife Lieutenant Megan McClintock are corps officers in Lawrence, Kansas. Their daughter Hannah and her husband Andrew Keiderling, and son Conner McClintock live in Omaha, Nebraska. Trever grew up in Wichita, Kansas until his parents accepted their calling to Salvation Army officership. Shelley grew up in Spearfish, South Dakota and is a first-generation Salvationist.

Shelley holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education from Northern State University (Aberdeen, South Dakota). Her spiritual gifts of leadership, administration, organizations, and encouragement have been used by God in their appointments. Trevor holds a degree in Leadership and Ethics from Nazarene Bible College (Colorado Springs, Colorado) and has spiritual gifts of shepherding, encouragement, and discernment.

Their ministry vision is to be redemptive and optimistic servant leaders of all they encounter, listening for God and following where He leads in courage. Together they enjoy birdwatching, hunting thrift stores, and time at the beach. Shelley has a green thumb and loves caring for her houseplants. Trevor loves golf and collecting and playing nerdy board games.

Majors Trevor and Rochelle McClintock began their appointment as Divisional Leaders in the Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Division on June 28, 2023.

How leadership works

  • The General, with the International headquarters in London, is the international leader of The Salvation Army.
  • In the United States, the functions of The Salvation Army are coordinated by the National Commander, whose office is at the National Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.
  • For administrative purposes, the nation is divided into four territories: the Central with headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, the Eastern with headquarters in West Nyack, New York, the Southern with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Western with headquarters in Long Beach, California.
  • Each territory is under the leadership of a territorial commander.
  • Territories are made up of units known as divisions (there are 40 in the United States and each is headed by a divisional commander).
  • Divisions consist of corps centers for worship and service, which are the basic units of The Salvation Army, and various specialized centers. The functions of each corps include religious and social services which are adapted to local needs.
  • Each corps is under the supervision of a corps officer.
