Salvation Army Tickets On Sale for Annual Benefit Christmas Concerts
Four Venues: Veterans just $2, Students just $3, Adults just $12 at WaukeshaSalvationArmy.org
Christmas Carols, a brass quintet, a string quartet, interesting and historic concert locations, with proceeds helping those “most in need” in Waukesha County is a winning combination that has drawn hundreds to numerous years of festive, professional Christmas concerts staged annually by The Salvation Army Waukesha County.
People have told us that they wait all year for these concerts, and that they’ve never been disappointed,” said Andy Smith, who coordinates the events for the 125-year old Waukesha County 501(c)3 charity.
“Patrons leave our concerts humming favorite melodies, primed for the remaining weeks of Christmas, and knowing that their own generosity while being entertained will be helping others in need who are facing hunger, homelessness, joblessness and other challenges, Smith said.”
The concert is repeated at four locations, with two evening and two matinee performances featuring the Nordic Brass, which will be touring Europe in 2020, the talented string quartet of the Wisconsin Philharmonic, and favorite Christmas Carols lead by soprano Elly Bruders.
Tickets are most easily obtained online at www.WaukeshaSalvationArmy.org for:
- Thursday, December 12th at 7pm at Calvary Lutheran in Brookfield;
- Friday, December 13th at 7pm at Calvary Evangelical in Muskego;
- Saturday, December 14th at 2pm in the Noble Victory Memorial Chapel at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield; and,
- an especially fun “PACKERS WIDOW” matinee during the Packers-Bears game on Sunday, December 15th at 2pm at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Eagle.
Monies raised at the benefit concerts go toward the $800,000 goal of the Salvation Army Waukesha County’s year-end Red Kettle campaign.
The unit is celebrating its 125th year of service in alleviating hunger through its large food pantry, hot community meal program and summertime Feed The Kids program, while providing clean and safe emergency lodging to nearly fifty homeless men per night year-round, and responding with its mobile kitchen when called out by the Waukesha County Sheriff to emergencies, fires and weather disasters.
It also operates a summer-long Day Camp program for youth; supports children through its Character Building program; provides scholarships to a rural, lakeside residential camp; operates both a women’s and a year-round youth ministry; and, offers an annual Christmastime TOY SHOP for needy families. A Christian church, it also has weekly Christian education, Bible study and worship services.
