La Crosse Center (Arena), 300 Harborview Plaza, La Crosse, WI 54601
LA CROSSE – Hundreds of families will soon have the supplies and clothing their children need for the upcoming school year.
‘Back 2 School’, a collaborative effort by Catholic Charities and The Salvation Army in La Crosse, will hold its distribution on August 15th at the La Crosse Center. Families will be able to stop by during their scheduled times between 8a.m. and 6p.m. to pick up school supplies and clothing. During the event, 500 students will be given ‘first day of school’ outfits. 1,000 students will be sent home with backpacks full of school supplies.
Along with the distribution of school supplies and clothing, free haircuts will also be offered to the soon-to-be students. Volunteer stylists from throughout the La Crosse area will be on-hand all day long.
With the program’s distribution quickly approaching, Catholic Charities and The Salvation Army are still in need of donations of both school supplies and clothing. You can find more information about donating or becoming a sponsor by visiting www.cclse.org or www.SalvationArmyLaCrosse.org.
