The Salvation Army Fond du Lac Exceeds Red Kettle Goal: Announces Campaign Highlights
The 2019 Red Kettle Campaign raised more than $182,000 for The Salvation Army of Fond du Lac County, Corps Officer Major Jon Welch announced.
- Advisory Board/Committee members congratulate 2019 Red Kettle Champions:
- Kitz & Pfeil Ace Hardware, the top mini counter kettle collection site
- Pick ‘n Save on Pioneer Rd., the top large kettle location site
- Waters Elementary School, the top youth bell ringing team
- ARC of Fond du Lac Opportunities Center, the top adult bell ringing team
- Darrell Jewson, the top individual bell ringer
- KFIZ & 107.1 The Bull, Fond du Lac Fire Fighters Local 400 & Michels Corporation for 19th Annual Bucket Brigade, the largest single day fundraiser (raised $42,573.60 with $16,000 Michels Corporation match)
- West Shore Group, Osborn & Son Trucking, Rotary and the Pelletier Family for $40,000 Red Kettle Final Match, the largest campaign match.
- The Horace Mann Theater hosted Red Kettle Family Movie Night Bash to launch the campaign. J.F. Ahern, Ellison Electric Supply, Society Insurance, Holiday Automotive, National Exchange Bank Foundation, Inc., The FDL Area Foundation, Goebel Insurance & Financial, Mid States Aluminum, Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and Baker Cheese were first to help fill the kettles.
- Sunny 97-7, 95-1/ 96-1 The Rock & Papa John’s Pizza championed bell ringing with “Back The Bells” and “Crush The Red Kettle Challenge.”
New in 2019: a digital ‘Kettle Pay’ component; a memorial salute to former Advisory Board member and mini counter kettle coordinator John Pelletier; Faris Gourmet’s Red Kettle Popcorn; "Gifts of Giving" displays in Annie's Fountain City Cafe, The Salvation Army Thrift Store and Pizza Ranch; and Signarama’s snowman photo op.
“Every person, organization and business that filled our Red Kettles, fuels our mission in 2020 and we are so blessed with the support,” Major Welch comments.
Kettle Campaign funds fuel Fond du Lac County’s largest food pantry and summer Brown Bag Lunch giveaway; the County’s only winter warming shelter; free youth programs and summer camps; Fond du Lac’s oldest Christmas toy, food and gift outreach, and an emergency disaster assistance program key in helping Fond du Lac recover from March’s flooding.
