National Salvation Army Week in La Crosse 2018
LA CROSSE – The Salvation Army of La Crosse will once again recognize National Salvation Army Week by holding various events throughout the community.
The goal of National Salvation Army Week is to spotlight the organization’s long-standing history and year-round work in the community. The schedule for daily events is as follows:
Monday (May 14th) – Mayoral Proclamation, 8:30am
Location: The Salvation Army Community Center, 223 N 8th Street
La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat will sign a proclamation recognizing National Salvation Army Week with Salvation Army staff and Advisory Board members in attendance. The public is also invited.
Tuesday (May 15th) – Trivia at the Thrift Store, 10-4pm
Location: The Salvation Army Thrift Store, 728 Copeland Avenue
The Salvation Army Emergency Canteen will be set up outside the Thrift Store all day long where staff will have trivia questions on-hand. If a shopper stops and gets one right, they will receive 10% off their Thrift Store purchase!
Wednesday (May 16th) – Open House, 9-11:00am
Location: The Salvation Army Community Center, 223 N. 8th Street
The public will be invited to stop into the Community Center and Emergency Shelter for a building tour. The tour will also include a walk-through of The Salvation Army’s Emergency Canteen as well as a ‘meet and greet’ with Major Deb Richardson.
Thursday (May 17th) – Red Shield Night, 6-9pm
Location: The Cargill Room – 332 Front Street South
The Salvation Army will recognize Rotary Lights as this year’s Community Red Shield Award recipient during Red Shield Night. The award honors those that have left a positive impact in the La Crosse community. The night will also include live music from local band Sellout, a large silent auction, food from the Waterfront, and more! Friday (May 18th) – Movie Night in the Chapel, 6-8pm
Location: The Salvation Army Community Center, 223 N. 8th Street
The Salvation Army of La Crosse will open its doors to end National Salvation Army Week in La Crosse for a fun, family friendly movie night in the Chapel. Freshly popped popcorn will be available!
