Behind the Shield: Carol Wagner, Volunteer, Bread of Life Assistance Center, Plymouth
Carol Wagner has been volunteering for The Bread of Life Assistance Center in Plymouth for over 14 years! She is also a part of the Unit Board. In her role, she does some clerical work like answering phones greeting clients and filing but she does so much more. Some of her responsibilities are preparing clothes of inmates when they get released, preparing food bags for families and helping with Plymouth’s Holiday Cheer and Secret Santa programs. Q. How did you first learn about The Salvation Army?
A. I learned about the Salvation Army when I met Ginger Weimer, the center’s director, at a woman’s bible study at our church.
Q. What is your favorite part about working at The Salvation Army?
A. Meeting family’s needs especially around the holidays.
Q. What has been your favorite experience at The Salvation Army?
A. Helping to meet the needs of others, especially for children around the holidays.
Q. What has been your favorite experience at Salvation Army?
A. Praying with our clients and when we do our Adopt-A-Family program at Christmas.
Q. What is one thing you believe the world should know about The Salvation Army?
A. We are here to help meet the public’s needs by giving them assistance.
Q. How would you describe The Salvation Army?
A. Caring, supportive and compassionate.
Q. What is your favorite project to work on?
A. I enjoy it all. One of my gifts is to be a servant, but I would say I love and enjoy helping to make the clients lives a little easier.
Q. Is there anything you’d like to add?
A. I enjoy and look forward to being here every week, sometimes twice a week. I am blessed to be part of The Salvation Army in Plymouth.
