Behind the Shield: Captain Vicky Carl, Officer, Oshkosh

Captain Vicky Carl was commissioned as an officer for The Salvation Army over 9 years ago. She is currently located at the Oshkosh Corps as the Corps Officer. In her role, she is involved with all of the children’s programs on Sunday. Captain Vicky teaches junior church, Corps Cadets, Sunday school. She is also involved with the after school program. When she is not working with children she preaches, teaches Adult Bible study, runs prayer meetings and women’s ministry. Learn more about Captain Vicky below.

Q. How did you first learn about The Salvation Army?
A. Our family was always a part of The Salvation Army.

Q. What made you want to become an Officer?
A. God called me to be an Officer.

Q. What is your favorite part about being an officer at THE SALVATION ARMY?
A. Being a part of praying and helping children come to know Jesus!

Q. What has been your favorite experience with THE SALVATION ARMY?
A. Watching the children grow in their walk with the Lord!

Q. What is one thing you believe the world should know about THE SALVATION ARMY?
A. That we are faith based and part of the Universal Christian Church.

Q. What are three words you'd use to describe THE SALVATION ARMY?
A. Compassionate, caring and empathetic.

Q. Is there anything you'd like to add?
A. I feel blessed to be a part of The Salvation Army!
